Au retour de l’Inde, du Népal et du Tibet, j’ai créée cette série avec grande joie. J’ai utilisé des encres de Chine, du sable, des papiers d’emballage déchirés et autres. J’ai commencé par peindre des taches sur mes supports, je visionnais mes photos de voyage puis je revenais à l’atelier et je voyais dans les formes abstraites déjà peintes les souvenirs de mon voyage qui me tenaient le plus à cœur.
On my return from Tibet, Nepal and India, I made this series with much joy. I used India inks, sand and torn commercial paper to create these paintings. My surfaces were prepared by doing abstract shapes on them, then I viewed my photos attentively and went back to the studio and just let go. The abstract shapes recalled the images I most liked and the painting developped itself from there.
