“On my return from Tibet, Nepal and India, I made this series with much joy. I used India inks, sand and torn commercial paper to create these paintings on paper. My surfaces were prepared by doing abstract shapes on them, then I viewed my photos  attentively and went  back to the studio. The abstract shapes recalled the images I most liked and  the painting developped itself  from there.”
